1Is Akisa Connect available on iOS and android?

Yes, the app is available for download on the iOS App Store and Android Play Store.

1Are all braiders listed within Akisa Connect’s directory?

The braiders listed on the app have all signed up and have been added to our database. They’ve also ran in depth background checks. If you don't see your braider on the app, invite your braider to join our community.

1Does Akisa Connect operate internationally?

Akisa Connect is available for download ONLY in Montreal, Canada. We are soon launching in other cities around Canada and eventually other countries.

1Do I need to be good at technology to use Akisa Connect?

We’ve built Akisa Connect specifically for people who are not technology experts! Akisa Connect includes free, friendly customer support. If anything is unclear, just contact us at info@akisaconnect.ca

1How do I redeem a code someone sent me?

First, make sure you've downloaded Akisa Connect app and are logged in. Copy the code that was sent to you. Go to Settings > Redeem Code to enter the code.

1What if I forgot my password?

You can reset your password by using the "Forgot Password" link on the log in screen. You will receive an email with the reset password link. Please be sure to check your spam folder for this email! Once you click on that link, you will be taken to a page to enter your new password. Once you’re done, you will receive an email confirming this change.

1What if I forgot which email I signed up with?

Reach out to us at info@akisaconnect.ca. We can look up your account using some additional information

1How can I delete my account?

We're sad to see you go 🙁 but if you must: log into the app, go to Settings > Edit Account, and you will see the option to delete your account. Click that and enter your email and password to permanently delete your account. Please note, this action cannot be undone.

1What if I accidently signed up as a braider?

Unfortunately, we cannot switch your account. You would have to delete your account so that you could re-register instead. Log into the app, go to Settings > Edit Account and you will see the option to delete your account. Click that and enter your email and password to permanently delete your account. Once you've done that you can re-register as a client.

1How do I start using Akisa Connect?

1Do I have to work every day?

The benefits of being part of Akisa Connect is the ability to create your schedule. Akisa Connect understands that our members are various different people from different backgrounds hence accommodates for that.

1Do I have to provide the hair to my clients?

Hairdressers are not required to provide the hair for the clients as Akisa Connect does have a shop section to the app. The shop section of the app does allow for the clients to deliver the hair directly at the hairdressers home (if the client is coming to the hairdressers place).

1Can I receive cash payments?

All payments are made online including tips hence no payments are to be accepted in person.

1Can I cancel an appointment?

Hairdressers have the ability to cancel an appointment a minimum of 72 hours prior to the appointment in order to give the clients a long enough heads up.

1How do I find new clients?

Make sure to complete your profile by adding your postal code, hours, photos, services, and profile picture - then let us handle the rest. Our growing community of clients will be able to discover and book with you immediately.

Braiders with clear, well lit photos from multiple angles showcasing a variety of hair textures get booked with the most. Be sure to have your existing clients leave you great reviews on the app to get noticed more.

1Can my clients rate and review me?

Definitely! Once they've completed an appointment with you, they will have the ability to leave a rating and review. In fact, we highly recommend you encourage your clients to do so! Let your clients be your marketing team. People trust people, reviews are a great referral.

1How can I rate a client?

Every hairdresser has the right to rate a client once the appointment is completed in order to give future hairdressers a heads up on what they should expect.

1Do I have to confirm all appointments that get requested by clients?

By default, yes you do. This is to ensure that you are available during the date and time the client has requested.

If you rarely find yourself declining appointment requests, you can enable Auto Confirmation from the Booking Preferences Settings in the app.

1Can I prevent clients from booking with me last minute?

Absolutely, you can set how far in advance clients must book from Settings > Booking Preferences in the app under Last Minute Booking.

1Can I block off specific times or days for emergencies, vacation, or other reasons?

Yes you can. If you’d like to block off a few hours or an entire day, you can do so by de-selecting that available time in your schedule.

1Do I receive appointment reminders?

Currently, braiders receive a notification 24 hours prior to their scheduled appointments Clients that book through Akisa Connect receive reminder notifications 24 hours before their upcoming appointment if they’ve enabled notifications from Akisa Connect.

1Can I contact my clients using the app?

You can send a message to all of your clients through the chat tab.

1Can I use Akisa Connect as a student braider?

Absolutely! Akisa Connect is great for braiders just starting out. Track your progression from the start as you start your career. Showcase your best braid outs let new clients find you.

1Can I sell products through the app?

1Can I sync other calendars (Google, iCal, etc) with theCut?

Unfortunately not at this time. If you really think syncing calendars would make your job a lot easier, let us know at feedback@akisaconnect.ca

1Is there a cancellation or no-show policy?

Yes there is!  In order to properly enforce our Cancellation & No-Show Policy, clients are required to add their card on file at booking. Once you’ve set your policy, your clients will see your Cancellation & No-Show rules.

1How can I offer promotions to my clients?

Head over to your Services and click on an existing service or create a new service. You will see a Promotion section that you can either enable or disable. Once enabled, you will be able to add the discount amount along with the start and end date for the promotion. Clients will only be able to redeem the promotion for appointments that fall within the promotion start and end dates.

1How can I reward my clients for referring new clients?

In order to set up your client referral program, go to your Settings > Referral Program. You can add a referral reward for your existing clients and a reward for whomever they refer. Your existing clients can only receive their reward once the person they have referred has completed an appointment with you.

Rewards are issued as vouchers which clients can redeem when booking with you.

1How can I earn rewards for referring other barbers?

Both you and the barber you refer are eligible to receive rewards! You can refer barbers by sharing your unique referral code. They will need to go to Settings > Redeem Code to receive their reward. Once they have completed their first 3 clients, you will then receive your reward.

1Is a commission taken?

Our motto is based on a low commission paid by the hairdressers so that each of you can enjoy and benefit from the Akisa Connect Community. 

1Do I have to pay tax?

Our braiders are not require to pay tax as long as you do not make over 30,000C$ / year. Clients will be charged tax however as the platform is required to pay tax to the government.

1Are you a salon?

Akisa connect is not a hair salon but rather a safe platform that allows for hair salons and self-employed hairdressers to provide their services to clients.

1How can I book?

To book an appointment you have to download the Akisa Connect app, create and account and simply search for your desired hairstyle.

1Can I talk to the hairdresser before booking?

Akisa Connect has an advance chat box feature that allows for clients to converse with hairdressers before booking their appointments.

1Are there any extra fees?

For you, there are no extra fees. At Akisa Connect there are no supplementary fees to be paid once it is time to pay. The price you see indicated on the hairdressers profile is the price you pay as it does already include tax. Our motto is based on a low commission paid by the hairdressers so that each of them can enjoy and benefit from the Akisa Connect Community.

1Do you the hair dressers provide the hair?

At Akisa Connect the hairdressers have the ability to provide the hair however Akisa Connect also has a shop component to the app where you can shop and deliver the hair directly to your hairdressers’ door.

1How are your hairdressers selected?

We select each hairdresser who joins the Akisa Connect team with great care. We assess each profile so that they provide you with quality service. A background check is also ran on each one of our hairdressers to guarantee their identity.

1Where are your services located?

Our services are currently located in Montreal as well as its surroundings cities.

1Can I cancel my appointment?

Be sure to cancel the appointment with your barber as soon as you can to avoid any cancellation or no-show fees.Appointments can be cancelled a minimum of 72 hours prior to the appointment date and time in order to receive the 25% deposit back. Any cancellations after the 72hrs results in a forfeited deposit.

1Can we pay in person?

At the moment all payments are to be securely paid online. A deposit is charged once the appointment is booked and the completed payment is charged the moment the appointment is completed.

1Will I receive a reminder for my appointment?

You will receive a reminder 24 hours before your appointment as long as you have enabled notifications for Akisa Connect app on your device.

1Can I book appointments for myself and someone else?

Yes, you can. Simply book both appointments however, just leave a comment when booking so that the braider knows who the appointment is for.

1How do I leave a review for a braider?

You can leave your braider a public review once your appointment is completed. Share your feedback so other people know exactly how talented your braider is. You can only review a braider if your previously booked and completed an appointment with them.

1How can I earn rewards for referring my friends?

Head over to the Rewards tab. You can refer a friend by sharing your unique referral code.

To be eligible to use this referral code, your friend must not have completed an appointment, have a current confirmed appointment.

Your friend will receive a voucher once they redeem your code. After your friend has completed their appointment with the braider you referred them to, you will then receive a notification that your voucher is available and you will be able to redeem it on your next appointment.  

Go back to the Rewards tab and you will now see a section called Vouchers. The voucher amount will be applied upon booking.

PRICING

1Is there a monthly fee?

There is no monthly fee for the clients nor the braiders.

1Is Akisa Connect free for braiders?

The app is free to download and use for braiders. You will automatically get your first two appointments commission free. Our motto is based on a low commission paid by the hairdressers so that each of you can enjoy and benefit from the Akisa Connect Community. After your first two appointments, the commission will be taken.

1Is Akisa Connect free for clients?

The app is free to download and use for clients.

PAYMENT

1As a braider, how can I receive my funds?

Standard Deposits (1-2 Business Days)

Standard deposits are automatically made Monday-Friday to your connected bank account via ACH. Transactions processed over the weekend will be deposited on Monday. Bank holidays may delay deposit schedules. Deposit times may vary depending on your bank’s processing speeds.

Instant Deposits

Instant deposits must be initiated manually. You must have a supported debit card on file. You should see funds transferred via instant deposit in your account within a few minutes.

1Why haven't I received the funds from an appointment?

If you haven't received your funds within the timeframe for your deposit method, reach out to us at info@akisaconnect.ca  and we'll get to the bottom of it. But first, make sure you’ve completed the appointment booked on the app.

You have to go through the Checkout process and tap ‘Complete’ on an appointment in order to begin processing the transaction. Completing the appointment tell us that the client had shown up and benefited from your service which then triggers the transaction. We recommend you do so while the client is still in the chair in case the transaction fails to process (insufficient funds, inactive card, etc.)

1How can I track the money I made from my appointments.

You can track your income in the revenue tab of the app. You can also contact info@akisaconnect.ca to request a detailed income report. We are working on a way for you to generate this from within the app.
